Mac’s Dough House is planning to open at 10509 Watterson Trail in Jeffersontown, in space that formerly was occupied by Johnny V’s pizzeria. It will feature variations on macaroni and cheese geared to suit tastes from the simplest child’s to a sophisticated adult’s.
Some of the mac and cheese dishes planned for the menu include buffalo chicken, corn flake toppings, lobster and crab and a spicy version made with Sriracha and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
The owners are Corey Sims and Tony Thomas, who are partners in the nearby restaurant and arcade Recbar, and Jimbo Schaffer, a partner in Johnny V’s and J-Town Beach volleyball court.
The macaroni dishes will be the only pastas on the menu, but Mac’s also will serve about a dozen specialty pizzas.
The partners hoped to open earlier in the summer, but unexpected renovations have pushed the anticipated opening date into early September. The restaurant will have a bar and serve a selection of craft beers.
