Anoosh Shariat returned to Louisville last year with a splash, opening Anoosh Bistro in the Brownsboro Center. Now, he is extending his little East End empire with Noosh Nosh, at 4816 Brownsboro Center, in the retail strip behind his free-standing bistro building, which will open Monday, May 23, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Noosh Nosh will feature a Mediterranean and Italian-influenced menu with an emphasis on shareable plates. Many dishes will be cooked in the combination gas and wood stone oven that sits at the heart of the open kitchen.
Breakfast offerings will include baked green eggs and breakfast pizza, various traditional and creative egg dishes and sweet and savory crepes. An “all-day snacks” menu features house-cured meats and artisanal cheeses, crispy green beans, lobster and shrimp spring rolls, smoked honey and Sriracha glazed chicken wings and Thai-style chicken skewers.
The main menu is divided into flatbreads and pizza, salads, sandwiches, hearty plates and pasta. Prices range from $7 to $14 for breakfast and $6 to $18 for lunch and dinner. Gelato will be a featured dessert choice, and gelato drinks will also be offered along with craft beers, wine and bourbon at the full bar.
The menu will also offer vegetarian and vegan options, for which Shariat has long been noted. Look for items such as tofu Florentine, potato frittata, black bean cakes, charred eggplant, mushroom flatbread, grilled cheese sandwiches, Margherita and paneer pizza, and baked rigatoni.
Shariat explained that the name of his new venue grew out of the tendency of some regular guests’ children’s referring to Anoosh Bistro as “Noosh’s. “So, the name stuck,” said Shariat, who went on to say that “Noosh Nosh is going to be a casual, fun neighborhood place you will want to visit more than once. It is going to be the kind of restaurant where families can enjoy meals together, friends can grab a drink and bite, and business patrons can catch a quick breakfast or lunch.”
