Few business communities seek to help their own like the restaurant community, and this week’s cause is a significant one.
Vashta Lichtsteiner, a former bartender at Rocky’s Sub Pub in Jeffersonville, is battling an aggressive brain cancer that has yet to respond to treatment. The wife and mother now lives in Pennsylvania, but according to proprietor Tom Kapfhammer, his staff at Rocky’s remains close to her and wants to help.
On Monday Feb. 3, the restaurant and its sister properties (Rocky’s Pizza & Panini, and two Buckhead Mountain Grills) will donate 20 percent of its total sales for its Benefit Vashta effort.
If you’re doing the math, you can probably figure out that 20 percent of sales is in the range of those restaurants’ gross margins, which means their owners make no profit that day.
Rocky’s has stepped up to help someone in need, so consider joining the effort and visiting for a meal.
If you’re not familiar with Rocky’s in Jeffersonville, all you need to know is it’s got great pizza and one of the best craft draught selections in the area. That’s about all the incentive you need, right?
