Sullivan University will offer a two-day Introductory Sommelier Course & Exam Sunday, Sept. 27 and Monday, Sept 28, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., ending with a multiple choice theory exam on Monday. The course is intended for hospitality professionals, but is open to anyone.
The goal of the course is to instill a “well-rounded beverage expertise following the most rigorous standards.” The course, provided by the Court of Master Sommeliers, the highest certifying organization in the wine trade, presupposes a strong general knowledge of the wines of the world to begin with. The basics of beer and spirits will also be covered.
Cost for the course will be $525. The course will be held at the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy, 2100 Gardiner Ln. For registration information, call (707) 255-5056.
