When local strawberries are in season, it is advisable for anyone who is a fan of real local freshly-picked strawberries to eat as many as possible. Varanese, 2106 Frankfort Ave., is doing its part to make that happen with its Strawberry Dinner tomorrow, Tuesday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m.
The Jeff Sherman Trio will also be on hand playing two sets of Beatles music, and “Strawberry Fields Forever” is very likely to be on the playlist.
The menu, created by the Varanese team led by Chef Erik Abraham, will consist of a “75 Kickstart” Signature Cocktail served with chilled strawberry gazpacho soup; mixed baby greens and kale topped with pickled watermelon, sliced strawberries, toasted pumpkin seeds and bleu cheese tossed in a strawberry-jalapeno vinaigrette; pan-fried rainbow trout served over vegetable couscous topped with a strawberry salsa; and a “Kentucky Summer Cooler” Signature Cocktail served with dessert, a chocolate ganache covered strawberry cheesecake .
The four-course meal and cocktails will be $65. Call (502) 899-9904 or email letsdine@varanese.com.
