Here are 20+ events and ways to celebrate Juneteenth in Louisville
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day, is a nationwide celebration to commemorate the emancipation from slavery. The federal holiday is celebrated each year on June 19.
Running concurrent with Juneteenth is 502 Black Business Week (also at Facebook).
502 Black Business Week is a marketing concept created by Tiandra Robinson, to showcase & highlight some of Louisville’s best black-owned businesses. The week is held during Juneteenth, which is the official end of Slavery in the United States and was created to encourage patronage of the featured businesses.
