Varanese, 2106 Frankfort Ave., is again offering its annual “Beat the Odds” early prix fixe 3-course dinner on Oaks and Derby evenings, May 5 and 6. The dinner, priced at $50 for two people, is served from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, and 5-6:30 on Saturday.
The menu will offer a choice of salads (mixed baby greens with caramelized onion vinaigrette or crispy Romaine with roasted garlic and Parmesan dressing); a choice of grilled salmon served over cream cheese grits, sautéed beef tips and tortellini tossed with baby spinach, or bourbon barrel smoked pork chop topped with an apple-bacon chutney for the entrée; and marshmallow and toffee bread pudding for dessert.
