Apron, Inc helps restaurant and service industry workers who find themselves in financial need through no fault of their own, and there will be a great opportunity to do some summerlicious tasting as you support this important non-profit at the Fourth Annual Taste of Independents on Sunday, July 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Olmsted, 3701 Frankfort Ave. The event is $50 in advance or $60 at the door. Last year’s event had 400 attendees and raised over $20,000.
Apron Inc. President, Gary Fox said in a press release The Taste of Independents “is the one event a year where independent restaurants come out to help their own; they really put on a great spread. Last year we had everything from Filet Mignon to Beignets, not to mention the large selection of adult beverages on hand.”
Participating restaurants include Volare, Equus/Jack’s Lounge, Anoosh Bistro and Martini Italian Bistro and many others. Specialty Cocktails by Ballotin Chocolate Whiskey, wines and craft beers will be available as well. Other event highlights include a silent auction, Apron Awards Ceremony, and entertainment provide by The Robbie Bartlett Duo.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.aproninc.org/events.
