Looking for a great reason to not make dinner on Thursday?
No, we’re not bringing over a casserole with Hamburger Helper.
Just put this casual event on your calendar.
Enjoy some of the finest pizza made in the city when The Wine Market/Old Town Wine and Spirits hosts the Highlands Pizza Tasting on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Church of the Advent (901 Baxter Ave.)
Expect slices from DiOrio’s, BoomBozz Taphouse, Bearno’s, Uncle Maddio’s and Papalino’s on the menu for the event.
In addition to endless tastes of pizzas, expect wine, beer and dessert served along with live music and a silent auction.
Tickets are available at the door for $25 (cash and credit cards accepted) and proceeds from the tasting will benefit multiple programs at Gilda’s Club Louisville and the Original Highlands Neighborhood Association.
Gilda’s Club, if you don’t know, is a place where families of loved ones with cancer can gather, relax and recoup with others in the same struggle. It was founded by actor Gene Wilder in honor of his wife, commediene Gilda Radner, who died from ovarian cancer in 1989.
We told you it was a good idea! No one has to clean up afterwards and the kids can still get back in time to do their homework.
