Four Roses Bourbon cocktail battle kicks off holiday season (Nov 23 – Dec 2)
Bars and restaurants along Bardstown Road and Baxter Avenue are mixing up holiday-inspired cocktails for the chance of being named champion in Four Roses’ third annual Holiday Bourbon Battle.
According to a news release, the competition kicks off Four Roses’ title sponsorship of the 27th annual Bardstown Road Aglow in the Highlands. Guests of the competing restaurants and bars will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite holiday-inspired bourbon cocktail by text message or by “Liking” their favorite cocktail on Four Roses Facebook page.
Each participating restaurant/bar will develop its own signature holiday cocktail to be made available for the public to taste and vote on two weeks before Bardstown Road Aglow – November 23 through December 2.
Participants competing in Four Roses’ Holiday Bourbon Battle include Asiatique, Monkey Wrench, Boombozz, The Bard’s Town, The Bristol, Ramsi’s, Lynn’s Paradise Café, Lilly’s, Seviche, Big Bar, Winston’s, O’Shea’s, Flanagan’s, Bearno’s and Impellizeri’s.
Restaurant and bar guests can vote by texting the name of the restaurant/bar to “22333,” or by visiting Facebook.com/FourRosesBourbon and clicking “Like” on the picture of their favorite Bourbon Battle cocktail. The cocktail photos will be available for “Liking” in the Bourbon Battle photo album. Voting instructions are also available inside each participating establishment.
Restaurant winners will be announced the week of December 3. The bartender credited with the recipe of the winning holiday bourbon cocktail will be rewarded with $500 cash, an engraved Four Roses decanter and a plaque for his/her restaurant.
