A good New Year’s resolution that is easy enough to keep is to pledge to learn a few new recipes this year, and to actually cook them. the Picarescala Culinary Institute is ready to give you a head start with a series of cooking classes presents in conjunction with Los Monitos Language place at Crane House, 1244 S. Third St.
The French Cooking Experience classes will cover breads and cheeses on Jan 20, crepes on Jan. 27. On Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, the class will be a very Frenchy Valentine’s Date Night (the French like Valentine’s Day even more than Americans do). All classes are 6:30-8:30 p.m. Participants will sample the food, along with wine pairings. Cost is $69 for bread and cheese class, $49 for the crepes lesson and $178 for the Valentine’s Day couples class. A 15% discount (for a total of $252) will apply when enrolling for the full series of three classes.
