Valentine’s Day is known for pairings – whether between couples or BFFs enjoying Galentines Day, and Butchertown Grocery (BG) and Jeptha Creed Distillery (JC) are celebrating the holiday spirit on February 14 by pairing up for an event all about…well, pairings.
Join them at Jeptha Creed Distillery from 6 to 8 p.m. as JC Beverage Director Mackenzi Poehlein and BG Owner & Chef Bobby Benjamin teach the ins and outs of flavor pairing.
We attended a preview of the event last night, and the everything was very well presented. The passed appetizers were delicious, and we were greeted with a welcome cocktail as we chatted in Jeptha Creed’s beautiful bar area.
Mackenzi led two cocktail demonstrations, one savory and one sweet. In addition, she explained why she chose each flavor and how they marry together to create a delicious drink. The cocktail stations are set up with tools that each couple share, and each individual makes one of the cocktails – so if both want to try both each cocktail, they will be sipping from the same glass.
Bobby Benjamin conducted two appetizer demonstrations as more appetizers were passed. He explained how to determine what food flavors to pair with a cocktail and why he decided to create each dish.
Tickets can be purchased online for $40 per individual or $70 per couple.
