UPDATE: Karen’s Memorial service has been set.

Now we would like to invite her family, friends and the restaurant community to come out and celebrate her life.

The event is being held above River House Restaurant (in their event space Savor) at 3015 River Road on Monday, May 23rd from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Remembrances and remarks at 7 p.m.).

There will be food, drink (cash-bar), dancing and fellowship. Just like Karen wanted.

Please join us in celebrating our friend’s life. You can find the Facebook event page here.

_______________________________________________________________________

As many of you may already know, Karen Shane died unexpectedly early Friday morning.

Karen was an unstoppable force of goodness in the Louisville food and beverage industry for decades. Her impact on the industry and the people in it was far-reaching and will echo for many years to come.

It is always hard to share the news of someone’s passing, but this news hits very close to home.

Karen was part of the F&D family.  We worked alongside her for the last several years. But she was more than just a co-worker. She was my friend and I loved her. And she loved me back.

At the time of this writing, and as her family goes through the very tough task of dealing with her loss and making arrangements,  we don’t have any more details to share on her service or the memorial that is sure to be planned.

We will share updates as we learn them and we are working on a proper memoriam to say farewell to our dear friend.

Rest in peace Karen. You will be sorely missed.
