Blues, brews and barbecue. It’s the great recurring theme of summertime in the south.
On July 1, the Bristol Bar & Grille East (300 North Hurstbourne Pkwy.) will get in the same swing of themes and throw its own Blues, Brews and Barbecue feast that Monday night.
The Coty Johnson Trio will play sets of classic blues while diners take their choice of three savory offerings from chef Bill Lynch’s special menu:
- Smoked porter pulled Marksbury Farms pork sandwich with blue cheese cole slaw ($10)
- Ahi tuna burger with miso mayonnaise, pickled ginger and local bibb lettuce ($14)
- Pit master charcuterie plate featuring twice-smoked pork rillettes, candied Stone Cross bacon and house-made chow-chow ($10).
Expect a wide selection of local craft beers to compliment the meal, in addition to the restaurant’s award winning wine list, of course. (I bet a good Malbec or Burgundy—even a smoky white Burgundy—would stand up to barbecue if you go the grape route.)
Of course, the regular menu is available, for those not interested in barbecue—and heaven only knows why anyone isn’t!
